Norway-based ballast water treatment (BWT) specialist Optimarin and German-based Zeppelin Power Systems have partnered to meet the growing demand for proven BWT technology in Germany and Eastern Europe.

Under the terms of a new regional agreement, Zeppelin, a distributor of propulsion, drive, traction and energy systems for the marine industry, will exclusively provide planning, engineering and customisation services for Optimarin’s Ballast Systems (OBS).

The contract covers Germany, Russia and Poland, as well as all of the CIS countries, excluding Ukraine.

Zeppelin will carry out all of the planning and engineering work at its office in Achim, Germany.
