J. Weiberg Gulliksen is a distributor and manufacturer of hardware and machinery for the shipping industry, supplying engines, auxiliary and emergency power technology, and supplementary equipment. We also offer repair and maintenance services from our own workshop.

Situated in Situated in Aalesund, the largest fishing port and the center of the largest maritime cluster in Norway, we operate directly from the home port of several major offshore shipping companies.

We act as Volvo Penta’s marine specialist for Norway, and support customers through all aspects of the service, from the design stage to installation and aftermarket care.

We mainly supply areas around the coast in west and northern Norway, but our competence and knowledge gained from over 60 years in the business has helped us to excel in a number of projects worldwide.

We can provide spare parts and service engineers to all Norwegian ports, including offshore installations.

Propulsion and commercial engines

Our main area of expertise is work concerning the Volvo Penta propulsion and generating set. Over the years we have delivered approximately 7,000 Volvo Penta engines.

Volvo Penta commercial engines are available at different ratings, from full continuous heavy-duty engines for applications like tug boats and ferries, to light-duty engines suitable for applications like high-speed patrol boats and rescue crafts. Innovation and technical leadership are some of the hallmarks of Volvo Penta, as recently demonstrated by the introduction of the leading pod system for planning hulls.

Famous for their technical qualities and superior reliability standards, we supply Volvo Penta auxiliary engines to builders of gensets, pumps, cranes, hydraulic power packs, air compressors, high-pressure water systems, fire fighting equipment, nitrogen pumps, dry bulk handling, surface preparation, recoating and rust removal.

After care and Volvo Penta spare parts

J. Weiberg Gulliksen has an aftersales support and service organisation, with experienced service engineers and technicians at service workshops based at key locations along the coast of Norway. We supply more than 60,000 different marine and industrial parts, including almost all Volvo Penta parts, and anything that we do not have in stock we can obtain within 24 hours.

We can provide spare parts and service engineers to all Norwegian ports, including offshore installations.

Projects

  • Crystal Mozart Cruise Ship, Vienna

    Crystal Mozart, a river cruise ship operated by Crystal Cruises, was christened in Vienna, Austria, on 11 July 2016 and is expected to enter service in October 2016.

  • Sovcomflot Icebreaking Stand-by Vessels

    Arctic shipbuilding specialist Arctech Helsinki Shipyard began construction of the first of three multifunctional icebreaking standby vessels for Sovcomflot (SCF), the biggest shipping company in Russia, in February 2016.
