When a rudder stock needed urgent attention with the vessel only had a few days in dock at Karstensen’s Shipyard in Skagen, MarineShaft completed the repair in only two working days.
The rudder stock belongs to a Norwegian fishing vessel Fagraberg. The rudder stock suffered from corrosion.
In our workshop, the rudder stock was welded up using MAG- welding.
The stainless-steel sleeves were renewed and a new bronze bushing for the rudder trunk was manufactured. The raw material for both stainless-steel sleeves and bronze bushing was in our stock.
MarineShaft has the class approved welding certificates to start a repair immediately. This is an important factor when time matters.
Our large stock of class approved raw material also ensures a short manufacturing time. This repair job was class approved by DNV-GL.
No matter if you need repair or replacement please remember we can assist you with both matters.
We keep a large stock of materials with class certified 3.2 certificates for almost any request – manufactured or as raw material.
